Job summary

ImageFIRST is seeking a Temporary Embroidery Operator to join the Lancaster team. Shifts run from 5:00am–3:30pm or 6:00am–4:30pm, Monday–Thursday with Friday as needed.

Pay starts at $18.00/hr, based on experience, and the role involves creating names/logos, sewing logos, and producing samples for multiple locations. Preferred candidates have embroidery or sewing experience, can read designs, and can stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Previous embroidery, seamstress or sewing experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of applicable experience preferred.
• Must be able to read designs and follow specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating names and logos for embroidery jobs.
• Complete sew out samples of new logos for various locations and customers.
• Communicate with the Fulfillment Center about work orders status in embroidery.
• Handle daily embroidery room tasks: hooping, loading/unloading machines, uploading designs, trimming, completing orders.
• Follow established designs and specifications.
• Sew using all available industrial embroidery machines.
• Comply with OSHA standards and safety policies.
• Ensure Lock-out Tag Out policies are followed.
• Differentiate colors for accuracy during inspection.
• Work independently and manage tasks without constant supervision.
• Basic reading, computer and math skills required.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
• Pass criminal background and drug screen.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

• Assist in creating names and logos for embroidery jobs.
• Complete sew out samples of new logos for a variety of locations and customers.
• Assist in communicating with the Fulfillment Center team regarding status of work orders in the embroidery room.
• Complete daily tasks of the embroidery room including, but not limited to, hooping of garments, loading/unloading machines, uploading designs, trimming, and completing orders.
• Follow established designs and specifications.
• Sew utilizing all available industrial embroidery machines.
• Comply with strict OSHA standards
  • Operate all equipment according to OSHA standards.
  • Perform job functions adhering to OSHA standards.
• Assure Lock-out Tag Out policies are always adhered to.
• Previous experience in embroidery, seamstress or sewing is preferred
• Minimum 1 year of applicable experience preferred
• Will need to differentiate colors for accuracy while inspecting the garment during and after being processed
• Fast learner, detailed oriented, and accuracy driven is a must
• Must be able to stand for an extended period while using hands and arms
• Follow and understand customer designs and specifications
• Must be able to work independently
• Basic reading, computer and math skills required
• Must be able to communicate both verbally and written
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed
• Must be able to pass a criminal background and drug screen

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 30 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include, but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, gloves. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
