West Star Aviation Inc. is seeking an Embraer Interior Technician to join our East Alton hangar team. You will handle interior assemblies, carpeting, insulation, and related systems, with modifications and refurbishments as needed, under the Interior Team Leader.
The role requires attention to safety and accurate documentation. We value reliability, strong English communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications

- Valid driver’s license for airline travel and/or passport preferred but not required.
- Team players who are self-motivated and able to perform under deadlines.
- Must have reliable transportation to work daily.

As an Interior technician you will be working on some of the most sophisticated private aircraft in the world. Duties can include removal and installation of carpeting, insulation, sound proofing and fabric accessories; varying amounts of parts replacement/repair, basic electrical system installation, modifications, refurbishments and general mechanical applications on aircraft interiors. Job duties will vary by type and scope, as designated by the Interior Team Leader.

- Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
- Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.
- Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
- Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
- Maintain customer oriented work habits.
- Assist in major modification work as needed.
- Lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
- Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
- Routing or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands with emphasis on grasping, feeling and finger dexterity.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas.
- Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines including but not limited to OSHA, Hazmat, etc.
- Work with others in a professional manner.
- Plan and organize procedures and operations.
- Read various reports and blue prints.
- Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Interior Management.
- May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity.
- Work with minimal supervision when required.
- The majority of work will be performed in a hangar or shop environment.
- Work outside on the ramp on occasion.
- Varied positions in and around the aircraft.
- Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
- Electrical power tools such as sanders, saws, power drills, etc.
- Sheet metal cutters, glue guns, and metal benders.
- Tugs, power carts and other engine powered equipment.
- Spray booth and all related equipment.

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $20-$35. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
