Job summary

Sparx, Austin-based, is seeking software developers and embedded engineers with 4+ years of experience. You will work on embedded microcontrollers, media processing, Bluetooth, TCP communications, server-side development, and tooling using C, C++, Python, and C# across bare-metal, RTOS, and Linux environments.

You'll join small teams to deliver products across aerospace, oil and gas, medical, robotics, and industrial automation, with opportunities to learn electronics and data analysis while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar is required.
• Proficient in source control methods and collaboration tools.
• Strong problem solving and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Excellent mathematics skills.
• Experience in testing and troubleshooting embedded systems.
• Experience interfacing with internal/external customers and vendors.
• Proven working experience in software engineering.
• Hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
• Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking RTOS.
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.
• Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems.
• Ability to read schematics and data sheets for components.
• Strong documentation and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment.
• Work directly with engineering peers from all disciplines to create new technologies for multiple industries.
• Communicate and document engineering designs at all phases of the product lifecycle.
