Analog Devices, Inc. in the United States is seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Applications Engineer for its North America team.

You will support customers and field sales using ADI's high-speed converters, mixed-signal front ends, and transceivers, delivering design guidance and troubleshooting across systems. You will partner with hardware, software, and HDL teams to develop reference designs, write technical content, and help improve product features.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Seven+ years of experience in applications engineering or embedded systems.
• Experience with high-speed ADCs/DACs and RF transceivers is preferred.
• US citizenship or Green Card.

Job Description Summary

The North America Regional Applications Team is seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Applications Engineer to join its customer-facing technical support team. In this role you will support customers and field sales teams using Analog Devices' industry-leading high-speed converters, mixed-signal front ends, and integrated transceivers. Through phone, email, virtual, and in-person engagements, you will assess system requirements, troubleshoot complex issues, and recommend solutions. You will also partner with product hardware, software, and HDL teams on the development of reference designs/software/tools, share customer requirements, and improve product features and usability.

Specific Responsibilities Include

• Provide customer technical support and training through email, phone, virtual channels, and onsite visits.
• Assess customer system requirements and recommend appropriate products, signal chains, and reference designs.
• Support hardware and software platforms, evaluation systems, algorithms, system models, and full-stack reference designs.
• Review customer system and hardware designs, diagnose complex technical issues, and guide customers through resolution.
• Partner with internal hardware and software platform teams to communicate customer needs and recommend product improvements.
• Develop technical content including applications notes, technical articles, and training material while staying current on ADI products, tools, customer applications, and industry trends.

Essential Skills

• Strong foundation in mixed-signal and RF systems, digital communications, embedded hardware and software, and system-level debugging.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed digital interfaces, including LVDS and JESD204.
• Experience working with FPGA devices, development tools, and hardware-description languages such as Verilog or VHDL.
• Proficiency developing embedded software for Linux and bare-metal systems using C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink; familiarity with code-generation tools such as Embedded Coder and HDL Coder.
• Hands-on experience using laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% for customer-site visits.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Master's or doctoral degree in electrical engineering; specialization in digital communications a plus
• Seven or more years of relevant experience in applications engineering, embedded systems design, or product development.
• Experience designing with or supporting high-speed ADCs and DACs, mixed-signal front ends, and integrated RF transceivers
• Direct customer-facing technical support experience desired.
• US citizenship or Green Card
