42dot, a mobility AI company and Hyundai Motor Group's Global Software Center, seeks an Embedded SW Engineer to build the backbone of next‑gen in‑vehicle experience and autonomous driving systems.

You will develop and optimize core applications on embedded Linux platforms, collaborating across system software, infotainment, autonomous driving, and cloud teams to deliver scalable mobility intelligence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/EE.
• 10+ years of experience developing applications for embedded Linux.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and/or Rust.
• Experience with IPC, systemd, and POSIX APIs.
• Familiarity with Linux build systems (Yocto, CMake, Make, Bazel).
• Solid understanding of resource management, memory handling and threading.
• Strong debugging skills and passion for automotive tech.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based in-vehicle applications for infotainment and autonomous driving systems.
• Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to integrate system-level components across real-time and user-space applications.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and boot times of embedded Linux platforms.
• Debug complex system-level issues across middleware, kernel, and user-space applications.

• Experience with inter-process communication (IPC), systemd, and POSIX APIs.
• Familiarity with Linux build systems (e.g., Yocto, CMake, Make, Bazel).
• Solid understanding of system resource management, memory handling, and threading.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug low-level software.
• Passion for autonomous vehicles, robotics, or mobility innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automotive platforms, autonomous driving stacks, Android Automotive OS (AAOS) or Robot Operating System (ROS).
• Experience with profiling and optimizing Linux system performance.
• Knowledge of vehicle network protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
• Contributions to open-source Linux or embedded projects.
