Job summary

Kearfott Corporation, based in Pine Brook, NJ, seeks an Embedded Software Verification Engineer to verify software for guidance, navigation, and control products. You will translate requirements into test cases, develop automated tests, and support DO-178C compliance in aerospace software development.

You will collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and quality teams in a laboratory setting, building verification environments and tools in Python, C, and C++ to ensure robust, traceable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS/CE/EE/SE).
• Experience in software development, embedded software, verification, or test automation.
• Programming in Python and/or C/C++ for embedded dev and tests.
• Ability to translate requirements into test cases.
• Experience debugging software and investigating test failures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain software verification tests for embedded and real-time software.
• Translate software requirements into executable test cases and procedures.
• Develop automated test scripts, frameworks, and tools to improve efficiency.
• Apply AI-enabled tools to enhance verification processes.
• Create and maintain verification documentation per engineering processes.
• Execute tests and analyze results for compliance with requirements.
• Investigate failures and work with developers to resolve defects.
• Develop test software/utilities using Python, C, and C++.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop or simulation-based testing environments.
• Maintain interfaces between test software, targets, equipment, and simulations.
• Participate in reviews of requirements, architecture, design, code, and tests.
