Seagate Technology is seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Intern to contribute to embedded product development, automation, and tooling. You will work under guidance on C/C++/Rust/Python projects, explore AI-assisted development tools, and engage in design reviews and testing.

This internship emphasizes learning, collaboration, and exposure to real-world storage technology and systems, with compensation on an hourly basis and location options in Longmont, CO or Shakopee, MN.

About the role - you will

• Develop software that supports embedded product development, validation, automation, engineering tools, or data analysis.

About you

• You have programming experience through coursework, projects, research, or earlier internships.
• You are interested in embedded software, systems, automation, storage technology, or hardware/software interaction.
• You are curious, collaborative, eager to learn, and able to communicate technical ideas clearly.

Your experience includes

• Programming experience in C, C++, Rust, Python, or similar languages.
• Exposure to embedded systems, operating systems, computer architecture, software tools, or test automation.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, or other software development workflows.
• Experience with scripting, version control, build systems, or debugging tools is a plus.
• You are pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

The estimated base wage range for this position is $30 - $35/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave. The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
