Job summary

Viasat is seeking a software engineer to join the Access Edge Terminal Software team. You will design, develop, and support software on embedded satellite terminal products (Ka-band, L-band, 5G) used in aviation, maritime, residential and other sectors.

You will work within an agile software team under a technical lead, collaborating with other teams to meet development, design, quality and agility goals. This is a site-based role with 60%+ weekly in-office work and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in computer science or computer engineering.
• Experience in hands-on software development or relevant school projects using C/C++.
• Proven experience with Linux/UNIX.
• Hands-on experience with Objected Oriented methodology & development.
• Experience with using AI tooling in software development.

Responsibilities

• Software engineering as part of an agile development team.
• Design, develop and drive software products.
• Participate in design, development and code reviews of software with a view to deliver quality products in the short and long term.
• Collaborate & coordinate with other software engineers and teams in driving timely delivery of quality software.
• Produce software as an individual contributor.
• Travel up to 10%.
