Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Specialist, Software Engineer in Carlsbad, CA to develop software for embedded, real-time control systems and advanced tactical radio applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Windows, Linux, and embedded RTOS platforms, supporting all phases of the software lifecycle while delivering robust interfaces and validated performance.

The role requires strong programming skills in Python, Java, C, or C++, along with Unix/Linux scripting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of related experience; graduate degree or equivalent with 2 years of related experience; in lieu of a degree, 8 years of related experience.
• Experience with Python, Java, C, or C++.
• Experience programming in Unix/Linux environments including shell scripting.
• Experience with unit and integration testing.
• Strong development skills including design concepts, code reviews, and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for embedded, real-time control software across Windows, Linux, and embedded RTOS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and evaluate hardware/software interfaces and system requirements.
• Support all phases of the software development life cycle, including testing, documentation, and defect resolution.
• Maintain documentation and technical artifacts per project and customer standards.
• Occasional travel may be required to support program needs.
