Job summary

Delan Associates, Inc. is seeking an embedded software engineer to develop firmware for a class III medical device. The role includes design, implementation, debugging, and testing of embedded software in C/C++ and Python, with strict adherence to validated procedures and quality standards.

You will interface with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and perform verification, validation, and documentation tasks to maintain compliance with quality systems.

Qualifications

• 5 - 13 years with BS experience, 7 - 11 years with MS, 4 - 8 years with PhD.
• C / C++ experience in a regulated industry (medical device, aerospace, automotive, etc.).
• Technical leadership and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, tests embedded software in C / C++ and Python.
• Documents software development and testing results per approved procedures and standards.

Develops embedded software (firmware), unit / integration tests, firmware requirements, and firmware verification tests. Responsible for analyzing, designing, programming, debugging, and modification of an embedded software code base of a class III medical device. May interface with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. Responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards in all work.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, tests embedded software code in C / C++ and Python.
• Documents software development and/or test development by writing documents, reports, memos, change requests. Methods used are determined by approved procedures and standards.
• Tracks software development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool.
• Analyzes, evaluates, verifies requirements, software and systems by using software engineering practices.

Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities:

Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
