Blue Origin LLC is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II for the Blue Ring program. You will design, develop, and test embedded flight software for a versatile spacecraft, working with avionics, systems, and propulsion teams to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires 2+ years in embedded software and proficiency in C++. Python is used for tooling and automation. Relocation and travel up to 10% may be required as part of the program.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Proficiency in C++ in resource-constrained embedded environments; Python for tooling, test automation, or scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded flight software for the Blue Ring spacecraft, including hardware interface layers.
• Implement software requirements derived from system-level specifications with traceability across the development lifecycle.
• Develop and execute software unit tests, integration tests, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test procedures.
• Collaborate with avionics, systems, and propulsion engineers to define software interfaces and resolve cross-discipline issues.
• Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and peer reviews to ensure quality and adherence to coding standards.
