Job summary

AV is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer I (Embedded) to join a fast-moving, collaborative Agile team in the U.S. The role focuses on planning, designing, developing and testing software for new products including cloud-based tools.

You will work with a group of engineers under mentorship, contributing to the full software lifecycle and gaining hands-on experience in a structured environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in Windows or Linux application software development. Qt is a plus.
  • Expertise in C++, Java, C#, and/or Web UI.
  • Experience with source control tools such as SVN and Git.
  • Experience writing unit tests and debugging techniques.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills; knowledge of OOP, data structures, databases and OS.

Responsibilities

  • Works within a defined software life cycle development process.
  • Supports full life-cycle of product including design, coding, debugging, test, deployment and maintenance.
  • Codes, simulates, integrates and validates software; writes modular, reusable, testable, and scalable code and unit tests.
  • Participates in software design reviews.
  • Delivers work on time according to estimates and project schedule & budget.
  • Follows AV's software development process to develop quality code under supervision.
