Job summary

Attalon, Inc. in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Software Engineer (Embedded Systems) to join our multidisciplinary engineering team.

You will help shape the development of high-power fiber lasers and associated electronics, writing firmware for embedded controllers and assisting with hardware bring-up. Ideal candidates have a BS in Electrical Engineering or CS, 0–2 years of experience, and hands-on experience with C, Verilog/VHDL, and PCB-level debugging.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with embedded programming in C.
• Experience with Verilog or VHDL.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, debugging, and testing embedded electronics.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for embedded microcontrollers and FPGAs.
• Support prototyping and bring-up of PCBs, cable harnesses, and embedded hardware assemblies.
• Participate in testing and validation of electronics and software.
• Create documentation including test plans, design notes, manufacturing instructions, and interface control documents.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues during development, integration, and field operations.
