Job summary

TeamGlobal is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in New York for a temporary role. You will design, develop, test, and maintain secure processing applications and high-performance embedded software for mission-critical platforms in bare-metal and RTOS environments.

Required: 6+ years with C++ and Embedded Systems, strong C/C++ development experience, and proficiency with debugging tools. Collaboration with hardware teams and CI/CD expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with C++ and Embedded Systems.
• 5-6 years of professional C/C++ development in embedded or real-time contexts.
• 1-2 years of experience developing and executing software verification procedures.
• Proficiency in modern C++ (C++14/17/20) and C.
• Strong debugging skills with JTAG, SWD, and logic analyzers.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE or related field.

Responsibilities

• Write, debug, and maintain modern C++ code for secure processing applications.
• Develop and sustain legacy codebases used across multiple projects.
• Implement low-level C/C++ software for bare-metal and RTOS environments (FreeRTOS, VxWorks).
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with microcontrollers, ASICs, and FPGA subsystems.
• Produce firmware, drivers, and HALs for mission-critical platforms.
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI.
• Use build systems like CMake and Make.
• Automate workflows using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in Agile ceremonies.

Job Description

• 1-2 years of experience developing and executing software verification procedures, including test plans, verification matrices, and compliance reporting
• Proficiency in modern C++ including C++14, C++17, and C++20, and C
• Strong debugging skills with JTAG, SWD, and logic analyzers
• Experience with Git version control
• Ability to diagnose, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
• Preferred Skills
• Experience with low-level programming for microcontrollers or SoCs without an operating system
• Experience writing drivers for ASICs, FPGA interfaces, and peripheral devices
