Job summary

ChabezTech LLC in North Reading, MA or Sunnyvale, CA is seeking embedded software engineers to design, develop, and maintain software interfacing with hardware for semiconductor test systems.

You will work closely with hardware and product teams, contribute to Linux-based platforms, multithreaded apps, and Agile processes, with onsite 5 days/week.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience developing software for embedded systems and/or Linux platforms.
• Experience debugging hardware/software integration issues.
• Experience developing or debugging multithreaded applications.
• Hands-on experience with embedded communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, PCIe).
• Experience in Agile software development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software using C and C++ for Linux-based and embedded systems.
• Debug and optimize hardware/software integration issues across system- and board-level components.
• Develop and support multithreaded applications and system-level software.
• Work with embedded communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, PCIe, or similar technologies.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Contribute to software quality, reliability, and engineering efficiency through modern practices.

Job Overview

We are seeking highly motivated and technically driven Embedded Software Engineers to join an Integrated System Test (IST) Software team developing cutting-edge test platforms.

In this role, you will design, develop, debug, and maintain software that interfaces directly with hardware and operating system components while providing robust APIs and services to higher-level applications. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software engineers, and product managers to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions for advanced semiconductor test systems.

This opportunity provides exposure to the full embedded software stack, including low-level hardware interaction, Linux platform development, application software, and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using C and C++ for Linux-based and embedded systems.

• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in either North Reading, MA or Sunnyvale, CA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation, testing, and tooling.
• Experience in test, instrumentation, or automation environments.
• Experience working with semiconductor test systems or related hardware platforms.
• Familiarity with system-level software development and hardware bring-up.
