Cleared2Hire | The GovTech Talent Platform is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to build safety-critical software for industrial systems and advance nuclear energy.

You will develop embedded firmware in C/C++ and Rust, design state machines and fault-tolerant control logic, collaborate with hardware engineers on bring-up and testing, and build automated build, test, and validation infrastructure while debugging with oscilloscopes and analyzers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, math, or related STEM field.
• 5+ years of professional embedded software experience.
• Experience developing embedded or low-level systems.
• Programming in C, C++, Go, Python, or Rust.
• Strong fundamentals and ability to make sound technical decisions with incomplete information.
• Data acquisition systems and DSP experience.
• PCBA bring-up and electrical hardware troubleshooting.
• Experience in fast-paced engineering or startup environments.

Cleared2Hire is recruiting an Embedded Software Engineer for a mission-driven team working to make nuclear energy more affordable. This is a hands-on opportunity to develop safety-critical software for industrial systems, working alongside engineers and scientists across electrical, mechanical, chemical, and nuclear disciplines.

What you’ll do:

• Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ and Rust to control electromechanical actuators and process high-speed sensor data.
• Design state machines, control architectures, and fault-tolerant control logic.
• Partner with hardware and electrical engineers on system bring‑up, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Build automated build, test, and validation infrastructure.
• Validate safe, deterministic behavior under normal and fault conditions.
• Debug systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other laboratory tools.
• Support system testing, commissioning, and improvements to production equipment.

What you’ll bring:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related STEM discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Experience developing embedded or low-level systems.
• Programming experience in C, C++, Go, Python, or Rust.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to make sound technical decisions with incomplete information.
• Data acquisition systems and digital signal processing.
