Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• Experience programming in Rust, C, or C++ through work, internships, coursework, research, or personal projects.
• Understanding of embedded systems and basic electrical engineering concepts.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot hardware/software interfaces.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, I2C, UART/RS-232/422, or similar embedded interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on hardware/software development interest.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software and firmware in Rust or C/C++ for real-time control systems.
• Integrates software with sensors, actuators, motor controllers, interfaces.
• Develop and test communications between embedded devices and higher-level control systems.
• Debug hardware/software interactions using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
• Participate in system integration, laboratory testing, and field testing.
• Work closely with software, electrical, mechanical, optical, and controls engineers.
• Develop maintainable software using Git, code reviews, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Document software interfaces, designs, test procedures and results.
• Use AI-assisted software development tools while independently verifying generated code for correctness, safety, and maintainability.

PositionOverview
