Job summary

Ambiq Micro Inc in Austin, TX seeks a Software Architect to lead software architecture for our low-power Edge AI MCU family. You will work with SoC hardware architects, marketing, and IP vendors to develop solid software allocations and requirements for development and test teams.

The candidate will have 12+ years in embedded real-time software, strong C/C++, ARM Cortex-M, and RTOS expertise, with experience in requirements specs and trade-offs between OSS and licensed software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in EE, CE or CS.
• 12+ years of embedded software experience in real-time environments.
• C/C++ and assembly on ARM Cortex-M targets.
• Experience writing software requirements with testability and open-source/licensed software trade-offs.
• Experience with inter-processor communication and memory management in embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce software architecture for multi-processor SoCs and edge AI MCUs.
• Collaborate with hardware, product marketing and IP vendors on requirements and test plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide software development teams through implementation and validation.
• Support power optimization and performance tuning for embedded targets.
• Review designs, test plans, code, and test results as SME for SoC software.
• Ensure alignment with architectural standards and business objectives.
