Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking an Embedded Systems Security Engineer near Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The role requires mid-level engineering experience, strong anti-tamper knowledge, and TS/SCI eligibility.

Location is commutable to Dayton area; salary range $98,280–$134,521 with strong DoD program involvement. Responsibilities include analyzing anti-tamper architectures, producing vulnerability reports, and coordinating with USAF/DoD teams to ensure compliant implementations.

Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters; 0 years with PhD/JD; or HS diploma with 9 years relevant experience.
  • B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related engineering disciplines
  • 4+ years of engineering experience, incl. systems engineering, electronic design, software development, system integration and/or test and failure analysis
  • Working knowledge of modern electronic components including microprocessors, FPGAs, and ASIC technologies
  • Proficient technical writing skills to generate technical documents and presentations
  • Good verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with technical peers and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Good analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • CLEARANCE: TS/SCI security clearance required (Top Secret minimum to start)

Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth technical understanding of assigned programs and be prepared to answer technical and risk-based questions for DoD decision makers
  • Coordinate reviews, meetings and test activities for assigned programs
  • Review engineering design documents for anti-tamper solutions and conduct vulnerability analysis of system-level anti-tamper architectures
  • Author technical reports documenting vulnerabilities of anti-tamper solutions and provide recommendations for DoD acquisition decisions
  • Support interchange meetings with US Air Force and DoD program offices and provide feedback for anti-tamper implementations
  • Author written feedback for USAF/DoD programs to document weaknesses and vulnerabilities of anti-tamper solutions
