Job summary

Amazon Lab126 is seeking a Sr Security Engineer to research and prototype detection methods that identify malicious activity and protect our consumer devices. You will analyze hardware and software stacks and work with software teams to translate prototypes into production defenses.

You will contribute to security across Linux/Android, machine learning, and data processing, while mentoring others and shaping threat models for devices and services.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of troubleshooting systems issues, logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools experience.
• 5+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans experience.
• 4+ years of (non-internship) scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages experience.
• Knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Experience (non-internship) scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language.

Responsibilities

• Research and prototype detection methods to identify malicious activities on consumer devices.
• Collaborate with software developers to implement abuse detection techniques.
• Analyze hardware, OS, networks, and applications for security issues from a defensive perspective.
• Contribute to security research in hardware security, Linux/Android security, ML, and big data.
