Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a software engineer to develop HMI and operator displays for safety-critical I&C systems. The role focuses on C/C++ application software and embedded real-time execution within a regulated environment.

You will work with senior engineers, participate in testing, debugging, and documentation, and contribute to safety-system software development at our Warrendale facility in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer/Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Experience with C and C++ through coursework, internships, or projects.
• Exposure to GUI/HMI development concepts and GUI framework familiarity (Qt/WinForms/WPF).
• Coursework or projects involving software application development and data management.
• Familiarity with UI/UX concepts and regulated development processes.
• 4+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IV&V and IST teams to support testing and certification of HMI software.
• Execute tasks within project schedules and quality expectations.
• Support development of graphical user interfaces, operator displays, and application software for safety-system products.
• Develop software using C/C++ and Ansys SCADE within an embedded real-time environment.
• Participate in software integration involving RTOS, databases, and control interfaces.
• Contribute to software documentation, verification, debugging, and issue resolution.
