Job summary

Rivet Industries is seeking a Software Engineer, Linux Kernel / Android, to work at the intersection of software and hardware. You will build and maintain the low-level platform stack powering body-worn and field-deployed devices, focusing on the kernel, BSP, AOSP, HALs, and drivers.

Collaborate with hardware, electrical, and sensor software teams to deliver a robust, secure, and power-efficient platform. The role emphasizes hands-on contribution, platform bring-up, and ownership over critical

Qualifications

• Experience with Android/Linux system images and embedded builds.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills and low-level debugging abilities.
• Experience developing or integrating device drivers for custom hardware.
• Familiar with Linux kernel configuration, memory management, and boot processes.
• Knowledge of secure boot and platform security for defense hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system-level software for Android and Linux.
• Customize AOSP for hardware platforms and HALs.
• Bring up new hardware and debug across hardware/software boundary.
• Build and maintain Linux kernels and Android images for embedded devices.
• Develop and maintain board support packages and drivers.
• Participate in code reviews and platform bring-up activities.
• Create tests and debugging tools for hardware-in-the-loop validation.
