Job summary

Apple Inc. Battery Engineering seeks an engineer to architect, implement, and maintain a verification system for testing complex firmware and software in embedded battery tech.

You’ll collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver scalable tools that help new battery solutions achieve higher energy density. You will work with C and Python, test suites, and CI pipelines, and you’ll help define schedules and quality expectations while presenting results to project leaders.

Qualifications

• BS degree with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with Pytest or other testing frameworks.
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Experience in low-pin-count buses such as I2C, UART, SPI.
• Understanding of ARM architecture.

Responsibilities

Description

In this role, you will work with multi-functional teams to architect, implement, and maintain a verification system to support testing of complex firmware/software. You'll help us innovate new battery technologies that continually outperforms the previous iterations. By collaborating with other product development groups across Apple, you’ll push the industry boundaries of what batteries can do and improve the product experience for our customers across the world.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, easy to understand, robust, testable, reusable, and sustainable code tailored for embedded test systems.
• Develop and maintain various automated engineering tools used to debug, analyze, and test embedded products.
• Work with project leaders to define assignments, schedules, quality expectations, and other project criteria.
• Present results and recommendations.
• Quickly debug and effectively close out system issues related to the product firmware, software, and systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience programming in C and Python.
• Experience working with micro-controllers.
• Experience with development tools such as JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS degree and 3+ years relevant industry experience.
• Experience designing, developing, or maintaining test suits using Pytest or other framework.
• Experience setting up, integrating, or maintaining continuous integration and deployment pipelines using tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience in low-pin-count communication buses such as I2C, UART, SPI.
• Understanding of ARM architecture.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $142,300 and $214,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
