Ambrosia Energy is hiring a Firmware Engineer to develop embedded software for DC-DC, AC-DC, and bidirectional power converters in our distributed battery storage system. You will collaborate with power electronics, systems, and test engineers to ensure high-performance control software for scalable energy storage solutions.

The role emphasizes robust firmware development, real-time control, and hardware-software integration, with documentation and design reviews as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, embedded systems, or related STEM.
• 3+ years of professional experience in embedded software/firmware for real-time control systems.
• Strong programming in C/C++ for embedded platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware in C for DSP/MCU based power converters (AC-DC, DC-DC, DAB, LLC).
• Implement and tune real-time control loops (PI, PID, PR) for power conversion.
• Develop inter-device communication using serial and poll/response protocols.
• Create power tracking, battery charging, and grid-forming algorithms with nested control loops.
• Follow coding standards and maintain versioned software in a VCS.
• Analyze test results and present findings in design reviews.
• Collaborate with power electronics to bring up and validate hardware and controls.
• Document firmware architecture, interfaces, and test methods.
