Job summary

Workstream is seeking an embedded software engineer to own on-device software that controls recording, sensors, storage, and power. You will bring up new boards with our EE team, develop drivers for sensors, and build tooling to move fast.

You have 2–5 years shipping embedded software, are proficient in C/C++, Python, and familiar with embedded Linux or RTOS, and comfortable at the hardware boundary with test equipment. This is an on-site role in Menlo Park, CA.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years shipping embedded software on real hardware.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python with exposure to embedded Linux or RTOS.
• Comfort at the hardware boundary: board bring-up and sensor drivers.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and test on-device software for recording, sensors, storage, and power.
• Bring up new hardware with the EE team and develop drivers for new sensors.
• Prototype options, measure behavior, and guide hardware/software decisions.
• Own the device interface to the system: on-device API/SDK and protocols.
• Build tooling for firmware development, testing, and calibration to enable fast iteration.
