Job summary

IDR is seeking a Firmware Embedded Software Engineer in Loveland, CO to develop and maintain embedded firmware in a cutting‑edge R&D environment for water quality solutions. The role is onsite 4-5 days per week and starts as a contract with potential for permanent placement.

You will write C++ and C for microcontrollers, work with Linux/RTOS/bare metal platforms, and contribute to CI/CD and unit testing. A BS in a related field and 3–5+ years of MCU experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3–5+ years of C++ and C embedded development.
• Experience with 32-bit MCUs and Linux/RTOS/bare metal.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware using C++ and C.
• Modify and extend existing codebases to meet requirements.
• Implement CI/CD practices and unit testing procedures.
• Read hardware schematics and low-level interfaces.
• Collaborate within a large R&D facility in a global network.
