Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks a Software Engineer to develop C++17 software for mission processing on Linux, in Poway, CA. You will contribute to enterprise-wide applications and work with x86 and ARM9 platforms within the Mission Processing Software team.

The role requires a CS/CE degree and 2+ years of software development experience, with a focus on high-quality, maintainable code and collaboration across teams. DoD clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in CS/CE with 2+ years software development experience.
• Experience with C++17, OOP, TCP/UDP socket programming, and multi-threaded Linux apps.
• Desirable: GitLab, Git, SCM tools, Bash, Python, Embedded SW, SoC, Xilinx PetaLinux, and related interfaces.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop C++17 infrastructure and services for non-embedded x86 and embedded ARM 9 systems.
• Use Petalinux and Xilinx tools for ARM 9 development.
• Perform unit/integration testing, maintenance, and documentation per standards.
• Collaborate with domain experts, users, and management across the lifecycle.
• Support planning and deployment of applications and observe security practices.
