The Email Developer is responsible for building, optimizing, and executing email campaigns to deliver engaging and effective communications.
This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance email marketing performance, create visually appealing and personalized content, and ensure adherence to email best practices.
The ideal candidate is technically minded, detail-oriented, and able to organize and deliver work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and optimize end-to-end email marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with digital marketing teams and stakeholders to align on the email calendar and manage assigned projects.
- Analyze performance of past campaigns to identify improvements and share insights with teams and leadership.
- Partner with technical email development teams to enhance capabilities, streamline processes, and improve outcomes.
- Create presentations highlighting email performance, wins, and learnings for stakeholders and leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in email marketing or related fields.
- Experience working with email marketing platforms (Responsys, Silverpop, MessageGears, SendGrid; Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred).
- Knowledge of email testing and optimization best practices.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to partner with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of project management tools (Jira preferred).
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HTML and CSS coding for email development.
- Experience designing mobile-first and responsive email templates.
- Experience with tagging and tracking tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Adobe Analytics preferred).
- Experience with third-party email tools such as Litmus, SparkPost, or Movable Ink.
- Basic proficiency in AmpScript or similar personalization languages.
- Understanding of SQL (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of compliance principles such as CAN-SPAM and GDPR.
