Job summary

Locums is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for locum coverage at a Level III Trauma Center that handles about 50,000 ED visits annually. The 33-bed ED features 3 trauma bays, with 37 hours per day of physician coverage and 36 hours for NP/PA coverage, plus scribe support.

Responsibilities include managing 50,000 visits, supervising scribes, performing moderate sedation, and using specialty care rooms for ENT, Orthopedics, and GYN cases.

Qualifications

• Active IN Medical License is required.
• IN State Controlled Substance registration is required.
• DEA registration with IN address and schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4.
• Board Certified - ABEM/AOBEM or ABMS-recognized with 5 years of continuous high-volume ED experience.
• EM residency graduates within the past 12 months may be considered.
• Internal Medicine with five years continuous high-volume ED experience.
• BLS certification is required.
• Immunizations: Flu, TB, and COVID.
• Documentation of case logs for past 2 years.
• Completed CME Attestation Form during application.

Facility and Department Details

• 33-bed Emergency Department with 3 trauma bays
• 37 hours/day physician coverage and 36 hours/day NP/PA coverage
• Scribe support provided
• Advanced trauma capabilities and 13 cardiac-monitor beds

Responsibilities

• Management of 50,000 annual ED visits
• Supervision of scribe support
• Performing moderate sedation
• Utilizing specialty care rooms for ENT, Orthopedics, and GYN cases

Required Qualifications

• Active unrestricted IN Medical License
• IN State Controlled Substance registration
• DEA with IN address and schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4
• Board Certified - ABEM/AOBEM or ABMS-recognized specialty with 5 years continuous full-time high-volume ED experience
• EM residency graduates within the past 12 months may be considered
• IM with five years continuous full-time experience in high-volume (>30,000 visits/year) ED
• BLS certification
• Immunizations: Flu, TB (past 12 months), and COVID
• Documentation of case logs for the past 2 years
• Completed CME Attestation Form during application
