Job summary

MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta is seeking a Physician to join an affiliated medical practice and deliver medical services to patients in the assigned area.

You will evaluate and treat patients, coordinate care with the healthcare team, participate in quality and cost-improvement initiatives, and support teaching and hospital programs.

The position requires current MD/DO/DPM certifications and active medical staff status; malpractice tail coverage is provided.

Qualifications

• MD or DO or DPM with ABMS certification.
• Active medical staff status and board certification.
• Ability to coordinate patient care and participate in medical committees.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients per specialty norms and Medical Director guidance.
• Coordinates care and communicates with the healthcare team as appropriate for the specialty.
• Participates in quality and cost-improvement initiatives across the organization.
• Accepts patient referrals and may admit, attend, or consult on hospitalized patients as needed.
• Coordinates discharge planning with case management for admitted patients.
