Job summary

Mid-City Scrap, LLC. is seeking an ELV Buyer in Massachusetts to source and purchase end-of-life vehicles from multiple channels. You will build strong supplier relationships, negotiate favorable prices, and ensure a steady flow of inventory while coordinating pickups and maintaining accurate records.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in sales, purchasing, logistics, or automotive recycling, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently to hit growth objectives.

Qualifications

• Must have strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in sales, purchasing, procurement, or related fields preferred.
• Familiarity with automotive recycling or scrap recycling helps.
• Ability to work independently and meet purchasing/growth objectives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Source ELVs from individuals, auto repair facilities, towing companies, and partners.
• Develop and maintain relationships with ELV suppliers.
• Identify opportunities to grow the ELV purchasing program.
• Enter purchase information into company systems accurately.
• Evaluate ELVs based on market conditions, values, costs, and profitability.
• Negotiate purchase prices to maximize margins.
• Maintain knowledge of vehicle and component values for informed decisions.
• Schedule and coordinate vehicle pickups with suppliers and transport personnel.
• Monitor collection activities to ensure timely service and positive customer experiences.
• Maintain records of purchased vehicles and pickup statuses.
