Job summary

KIPP Capital Region seeks an English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher to deliver inclusive, language-focused instruction and assessment for students whose primary language is not English. You will tailor lessons, monitor progress, and coordinate with families and staff across K-8 sites in Albany and Troy.

The role emphasizes collaboration, data-driven decision making, and alignment with federal/state expectations to support English language development and academic success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• New York State ESL/ENL/ELL/ML Instructor certification.
• Experience working with ELL students in education settings.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and admins to monitor student progress and communicate with families.
• Support ELL students across sites (K-8) to ensure compliance with screenings, testing, and reporting.
• Develop lesson plans and deliver instruction focused on language acquisition within curriculum guidelines.
• Utilize diverse instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
