The East Baton Rouge Parish School System is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to support teachers in a special education setting. You will assist with instructional activities, behavior management, and student supervision under the guidance of a certified teacher.
Responsibilities include preparing materials, maintaining records, aiding substitute teachers, and assisting students with physical disabilities. A high school diploma and relevant coursework are required.

Assists teachers to provide for the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in a special education setting. Assists in the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. Work under general supervision of the principal and immediate direction of the certified teacher.
High school diploma or high school equivalent. Completed two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education (48 college credit hours with required courses); or received an Associate’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher learning; or a minimum score of 450 on the ETS Parapro Exam.

New employees coming to EBRPSS/current employees new to a position, must use the Verifent website to verify qualifying years of experience (outside of EBRPSS) aligned to the job description. All new employees to the district/current employees new to a position will receive 0 years of experience aligned to the job description until the verification of previous experience aligned to the job description is received.
Experience verifications must be received in the Office of Human Resources within the first 6 months of employment in order to be eligible for a retroactive payment.
