Job summary

PDQ is seeking a Software Engineer to help develop the agent on every managed device as part of PDQ Connect. You’ll work on Elixir backend services and React frontend, shaping software across the full development lifecycle, while growing as an Elixir developer.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, reliability, and performance, with collaboration across teams and with UX designers to improve product fit-for-purpose.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of Elixir experience on professional software projects.
• Strong end-to-end ownership, reliability, and performance focus.
• Proficient in SQL, data management, and migrations.
• Experience with Git version control and PR processes.
• Ability to read and understand unfamiliar codebases quickly.
• Experience with test-driven development and automated testing.
• Familiarity with open-source communities and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain Elixir services and React frontend code.
• Work across the stack from code to production monitoring and CI/CD.
• Optimize systems to perform well under load and scale.
• Collaborate with UX designers to improve product fit-for-purpose.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Engage with customers and team members on technical issues and outages.
