Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a mid-career transplant hepatologist to join the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the Associate Professor to Professor level. The ideal candidate will contribute to excellence in clinical hepatology and liver transplantation, and to scholarly activity within a high-volume program.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with board certification in Gastroenterology
  • Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology or subspecialty training
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience post-training
  • Experience in high-volume liver transplant center
  • Proven record of peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care in hepatology and liver transplantation across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Lead multidisciplinary transplant program in a high-volume academic medical center
  • Manage complex liver disease including evaluation and post-transplant care
  • Advance clinical and translational research initiatives
  • Maintain funded research portfolio (NIH, foundation, or industry-supported)
  • Mentor fellows, residents, medical students, and junior faculty
  • Lead tumor boards and case conferences
  • Contribute to program development and quality improvement
  • Engage in regional and national hepatology activities
  • Develop and grow clinical programs
