Job summary

Cambridge University Ladies Netball Club is seeking an experienced coach to lead and develop its BUCS squad and other teams. You will guide high‑calibre athletes, plan weekly sessions, and contribute to performance strategy across technical, tactical, and physical areas.

Role involves involvement in Varsity preparation and close collaboration with a club captain and fellow coaches. Salary is hourly, with progression through experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 coaching qualification or above.
  • Meaningful coaching or playing experience at a competitive level.
  • Strong communication and the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of athletes.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a coaching team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver three weekly training sessions (Mon 7–10pm, Fri 4–6pm, Sun 8–10am).
  • Attend home BUCS fixtures on Wednesday afternoons where possible.
  • Be involved in team and captain selection at the start of the season.
  • Design and deliver structured sessions for players across skill levels.
  • Develop individual and team performance – technical, tactical, and physical conditioning.
  • Use match and performance data to inform and adjust coaching approaches.
  • Prepare teams for BUCS fixtures, cup matches, and Varsity match.
  • Collaborate with club captain and other coaches on strategy.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive training environment per safeguarding policy.
  • Provide mentorship to foster a positive and disciplined training culture.
