Qualifications

• Must hold a Merchant Mariner Credential.
• GS-11 requires 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower grade.
• Experience in conducting searches, arrests, and seizure of evidence and property.
• Experience using electronic high-tech surveillance equipment to gather evidence.
• Citizenship and residency requirements as stated by CBP.

Responsibilities

• Perform marine-based law enforcement operations to detect and interdict terrorists, weapons, contraband, and illicit entrants.
• Monitor behavior patterns of suspect persons, vehicles, or vessels.
• Interpret radar data to calculate intercepts and track targets.
• Search persons, vessels, baggage, and cargo for contraband or weapons.
• Collect, refine, and analyze strategic and tactical intelligence.
