Job summary

The City of Conroe seeks a skilled Fleet Technician II to maintain and repair a broad range of municipal vehicles and equipment, from diesel trucks to fire apparatus and heavy construction gear.

You will diagnose, repair, and replace components using specialized tools, adhering to EPA refrigerant recycling rules and safety standards; strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Formal postsecondary fleet training or 5+ years of fleet experience
• Must hold Master ASE in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck or Transit
• MACS certification for Freon installation and related procedures
• Class B CDL required within 12 months of employment
• Texas Safety and Emissions Certification within 6 months of employment

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance inspections and minor repairs on diverse fleet vehicles and equipment
• Disassemble/assemble engines, transmissions, differentials as needed
• Diagnose malfunctions using advanced electronic and diagnostic equipment
• Follow safety, environmental, and lock-out/tag-out procedures
• Provide courteous, informed service to internal customers and teams
