Job summary

Transportation Security Administration is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights from threats and to operate both in the air and on the ground.

Officers must be ready for irregular schedules, frequent travel, and a requirement to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. The role includes law enforcement duties, firearms proficiency, and collaboration with multiple agencies.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience or
• A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• A qualifying combination of post‑secondary education and relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity and other threats
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights
• Assess situations and respond with limited backup
• Carry firearms and maintain required proficiency
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, and advisory activities
• Interview witnesses or suspects when required
• Make arrests and execute warrants within legal authority
• Participate in multi-agency operations with federal, state, and local partners
• Support ground-based security and counterterrorism missions
• Perform other specialized assignments including Counter-UAS operations
