Job summary

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial aviation from terrorism and other threats. The role requires discretion, sound judgment, physical readiness, and the ability to work independently in high-pressure situations.

Positions may involve frequent travel and assignments with limited advance notice, with expectations to carry a firearm and maintain rigorous proficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national.
• Must be at least 21 years old at time of application.
• Must meet background investigation and security clearance requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Must be willing to mobility and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Protects commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity and other threats.
• Work discreetly on domestic and international flights.
• Assess evolving situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain proficiency for federal duties.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, and advisory activities.
• Interview witnesses or suspects when required and execute warrants within authority.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners on operations.
• Support ground-based transportation and counterterrorism missions.
• Perform other specialized assignments, including Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems operations.
