Job summary

The Sheraton San Diego Resort seeks an Executive Banquet Chef to lead all banquet culinary operations, coordinating with Garde Manger, hot line, pastry, and events teams to deliver exceptional food quality.

You will oversee weddings, conferences, galas, VIP functions and resort activations, ensuring brand standards, cost control, sanitation, and guest satisfaction throughout all events.

Qualifications

• 4 years of progressive culinary leadership experience in hotels, resorts, banquets, or high-volume operations.
• Experience managing multiple culinary disciplines including banquets, garde manger, hot production, and pastry.
• Strong knowledge of luxury hospitality standards and large-event execution.
• ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously; lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily banquet culinary production across cold, hot, and pastry operations.
• Lead execution of banquet events from VIP experiences to large conferences.
• Ensure food quality, consistency, presentation, temperature, and timing.
• Coordinate event transitions with Banquet Operations, Stewarding, and Front-of-House leadership.
• Forecast production volumes and maintain inventory controls.
