Job summary

Savista is seeking an Eligibility Specialist 2 to support patients at multiple Renown locations in Reno and Sparks. This full-time role focuses on guiding patients through Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and hospital charity programs with empathy and clear explanations.

You will conduct eligibility screenings, coordinate with hospital staff and agencies, and maintain accurate confidential records while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • 2+ years in a customer-facing role, preferably in healthcare or financial counseling.
  • Basic knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security Disability programs.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail.
  • Tech-savvy with ability to use multiple software systems and platforms.
  • Excellent communication and empathetic, patient-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced eligibility screenings to identify coverage options and financial assistance.
  • Contact patients by phone to support required screenings and documentation.
  • Guide patients through complex applications for Medicaid, Medicare, Disability and charity care.
  • Coordinate with hospital staff and government agencies to secure coverage and resolve issues.
  • Manage a high caseload while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Explain financial responsibilities and options clearly and compassionately.
  • Maintain confidential records in HIPAA-compliant systems.
