Responsibilities
Locate malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and signal and control systems.
Operate elevators to determine power demands and test power consumption.
Cut prefabricated sections to specified dimensions.
Assemble and maintain elevators and escalators using tools and testing devices.
Attach guide shoes and rollers to minimize cars' lateral motion.
Assemble elevator cars, installing the platform, walls, and doors.
