The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking an Elevator Inspector I to ensure safe operation of elevators and related machinery in accordance with state laws. The role involves inspecting devices, testing systems, and issuing inspection certificates across building sites.

Formación

• Applicants must have a current and valid License as an Elevator Constructor, Maintenance Man, and Repairman.
• Incumbents may be required to have a current and valid motor vehicle driver's license.

Responsabilidades

• Inspects and tests elevators and related machinery by observing systems and safety controls; issues or revokes certificates of inspection.
• Reviews plans and specifications for proposed installations or alterations of elevators and related machinery.
• Investigates accidents and complaints of defective or unsafe equipment to determine cause and damages.
• Provides technical assistance interpreting safety codes and laws governing elevator systems.
• Coordinates and schedules inspections with other agencies; maintains logs and data in agency systems.
• Attends training on new devices and software used by the Commonwealth.
