Architect of the Capitol in Washington, DC, seeks an Elevator Mechanic (Electronics) Supervisor to oversee maintenance and repair of elevators and electronically controlled systems in the House Office Buildings Elevator Branch.

The role is emergency essential with Sunday-Thursday night shift 9:30 p.m.–6:00 a.m., supervising staff, budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and ASME 17.1.

Responsibilities

• Oversees maintenance and repair operations for elevators and other electronically controlled systems.
• Plan staffing, scheduling, and use of equipment and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.
• Supervise subordinates, assign duties, evaluate performance, and manage the unit's budget.
• Interview candidates for vacancies and recommend promotions or reassignments.
• Establish leave schedules and set performance standards; conduct formal appraisals.
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for elevator work.
