Job summary

Sylvan Learning Center in Mineola is seeking engaging teachers to deliver reading and writing instruction for K-6 students. You will use pre-planned lessons, lead small groups (2-3 students), and focus on teaching without homework grading.

This is an in-person, on-site role designed for flexibility with late afternoons and Saturdays. Open positions emphasize teaching certification, punctuality, and a genuine passion for inspiring learners.

Sylvan Learning Center is looking for engaging and dedicated teachers to help inspire students. We are currently looking for teachers who are able to teach reading and writing at a k-6th grade level.

Sylvan creates individualized learning plans for students of all abilities based on their unique needs. Working with groups of only 2-3 students, you will be responsible for leading instruction and motivating students to be successful. There are no lesson plans to create, no homework to grade and no parent-conferencing. At Sylvan we want you to focus on what you do best- Teaching.

What you should know:

You will use pre-planned lessons. They are straightforward, easy to manage, and fun to teach.

Teach students in a small group setting. There will be no more than 3 students per teacher.

Most teachers choose to work 2-3 days/week

We are open for instruction on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4-7pm and on Saturday mornings from 9am-1pm. We are currently looking primarily for weekday instructors with Thursday availability.

This is an in person position on site in Mineola
