Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors of Los Angeles is seeking qualified, dedicated, and compassionate Elementary Teachers and Tutors to provide personalized, one-on-one academic support to students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 throughout the Northern Los Angeles area. Our educators work closely with students to strengthen foundational academic skills, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; teaching credential or advanced degree preferred.
• Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring elementary students.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Reliable transportation and authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring for elementary students (Kindergarten through Grade 6).
• Support students in reading, writing, mathematics, and other core elementary subjects.
• Assist with homework, study skills, executive functioning, and foundational learning strategies.
• Develop individualized learning plans based on each student's needs and goals.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to families.
• Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
• Travel to students' homes throughout the Northern Los Angeles area.

Minimum Requirements

Qualified applicants must hold a bachelor's degree and meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Hold a valid California teaching credential (Multiple Subject preferred) or equivalent


• Be a current student teacher pursuing a teaching credential


• Have two or more years of experience teaching elementary students in a public, private, or charter school


• Have significant experience providing one-on-one or small-group tutoring for elementary students


• Be a graduate student in education or a related field with teaching or instructional experience
