Job summary

Aspire Public Schools is seeking a TK instructor in California to deliver high-quality instruction in a small school setting where each student is known and valued. You will help students take ownership of their learning and contribute to our nationally recognized model.

You will collaborate with lead teachers, principals, and instructional coaches in a supportive PLC to continually improve teaching practices and outcomes, while aligning lessons to California standards and Aspire guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid Multiple Subject Teaching Credential required
• English Language Learner Authorization required
• 1+ year working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant preferred
• TK positions require one of: Child Development Teacher Permit, 24+ units in ECE/child development, or equivalent professional experience (per Aspire)
• Knowledge of State Standards and subject-specific frameworks
• Knowledge of child cognitive development and various learning styles
• Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
• Ability and willingness to reflect and improve instructional practices

Responsibilities

• Establish a culture of high expectations that every student will attend college
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with California State Standards and Aspire guidelines
• Assess students regularly and refine instruction based on assessment data and student needs
• Communicate regularly with students and families and involve families as partners in education
• Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team to address needs and improve instructional practices
• Actively participate in professional development and collaborate with lead teachers, principal, and instructional coaches
