New Bedford Public School District is seeking an Elementary Theatre Teacher to join the Fine Arts Department in New Bedford, MA. Qualifications

  • Must hold Massachusetts license: Academic: Teacher, Theatre: All Levels.
  • Knowledge of secondary theatre education methods and the ability to navigate technology software and applications.
  • Experience designing and implementing engaging lessons, units and assessments that correlate to the MA Frameworks for Theatre.
  • Strong classroom management techniques, be responsive to student diversity, enjoy working in an urban setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with colleagues, administrators and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement instruction to ensure that all students meet and exceed MA DESE and Common Core Standards.
  • Use data to inform instruction, track progress of students and self-evaluation.
  • Deliver engaging, targeted instruction that meets MA DESE and Common Core Standards for level and subject.
  • Differentiate services and instruction to meet varying student needs and strengths.
  • Maintain active communication with students’ families about learning progress throughout the school year.
  • Assess student performance using formal, summative, and portfolio assessments to drive instruction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
