Job summary

American Leadership Academy in the West Valley region is seeking an Elementary Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must have or be willing to obtain an AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.

Responsibilities include planning, delivering engaging lessons, assessing progress, and maintaining a positive classroom environment. Preferred candidates hold a degree in Elementary Education or related field and may have a teaching certificate or content knowledge exams (AEPA, NES, Praxis).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field.
  • Preferred: Teaching Certificate or Content knowledge exams (AEPA, NES, Praxis)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and standards.
  • Use varied teaching methods and approved instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Engage students through discussions, hands-on activities, and projects.
  • Set clear learning objectives and assess progress toward goals.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Apply effective classroom management to maintain productivity.
  • Address behavioral issues per school policies.
  • Administer assessments to evaluate understanding and progress.
  • Provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance.
  • Support students with special needs or English language learners.
  • Differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
  • Foster open communication with students, parents, guardians.
  • Hold parent-teacher conferences to discuss development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in PLCs.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Participate in school meetings and committees.
  • Prepare and submit reports, lesson plans, and documentation timely.
  • Manage classroom resources and materials.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to programs.
  • Provide guidance and support for student development.
  • Address issues affecting learning and wellbeing.
  • Encourage involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant classroom following safety protocols.
  • Adhere to policies related to student health and safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.

American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for Elementary Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year for our campuses in the West Valley. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and approved instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Engage students in active learning through discussions, hands-on activities, and projects.
  • Set clear learning objectives and assess student progress toward these goals.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
  • Address behavioral issues promptly and appropriately, in line with school policies.
  • Implement and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
  • Identify and address the individual needs of students, including those with special educational needs or English language learners.
  • Provide additional support and use approved instructional resources as needed to help students succeed.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of the classroom.
  • Foster open communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
  • Hold parent-teacher conferences to discuss student development and address any issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional learning communities.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with educational practices, technologies, and subject matter.
  • Participate in school meetings, committees, and other professional activities as required.
  • Prepare and submit reports, lesson plans and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Manage classroom resources and materials, ensuring their proper use and maintenance.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the development of school policies and programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development.
  • Address and resolve any issues that may affect students' learning and well-being.
  • Encourage and support student involvement in extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Ensure a safe and secure classroom environment, following school safety protocols and procedures.
  • Adhere to school and district policies, including those related to student health and safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.
